FRUSTRATION AND MINDSET

Wherever you are in your Fitness journey, you probably already felt this feeling of FRUSTRATION.
I recently felt again that feeling SO STRONG and i wanted to give some ADVICES to people that could feel the same way to help them to go through and keep moving forward.
It is so easy at that precise moment to give up.
Sometime all what we need is that buddy that wake you up and KICK YOUR ASS. Today i will be that buddy for you.
I used to train 6 days a week, with a very strict diet for more than 2 years. Everything was fine, i was really enjoying it, and i was progressing step by step.
To grow as well in my career in hospitality i have started few months ago a new job with a better position. I really love the role.
BUT .... very quickly i have started to work a lot, when i mean a lot, i mean that sometime i had barely the time to sleep between 2 working shift, that means i was working 70 hours per weeks and the less busiest ones around 60 hours.
Slowly slowly the TIME WAS MISSING for me to go to the GYM, the time was missing for me to COOK my meal preparation for my DIET, and slowly slowly i have started to feel extremely TIRED, and slowly slowly i stopped TRAINING, and stopped to follow my Macros and my Diet.
This is exactly the moment when the FRUSTRATION starts appearing.
I have started to feeling bad and GUILTY because i was not training anymore. I really wanted to do so, but with my job i was really not able to do it.
That situation starts to make me feel SO SAD and unconfortable.
I have started to gain body fat and my body SHAPES started to change as well on the wrong way.
Then a second step of FRUSTRATION appear, all the work i put in, all the EFFORTS i have done for years, started to vanish in couple of months. I was not feeling good with my body anymore.
I was not HAPPY and i was not feeling myself anymore, a part of me was missing.
THIS IS AT THAT MOMENT YOU NEED TO REACT !!!!
I realise how much to TRAIN was IMPORTANT for me. I realise the Fitness was a part of me. So i have decided to TAKE ACTION, to wake up, to kick my Ass and to not stay in a situation that make me feel bad.
So I have decided to change job and to find one that will allow me to have time for myself, to have time to train, to have time to cook, and to have time to do all what it is important for me.
I have decided to compete again and i am following the Shred and Shape challenge from Lauren Simpson.
My first day back to the gym was so intense in emotion, that i was almost crying of joy when i get in. That moment when i get back to the gym and i felt like back home after long time ! Home sweet home.
BUT ..... the Third Step of FRUSTRATION appear at that stage.
In every single exercice i was doing, i was not as such as good as before. I could not lift as heavy as before. My Cardio resistance was not like before. Nothing was like before.
I lost all the performance i use to do. I could not even do push-up or a pull-up anymore.
I have started to feel VERY FRUSTRATED, because i know i am capable of much more, and much better. It make me feel so UPSET.
THIS IS EXACTLY HERE YOU NEED TO PUSH !!!! AND DO NOT GIVE UP !!!!!! THIS IS THE MOMENT WHEN YOUR MINDSET NEED TO BE STRONG !!
YOU WILL NEED TO FIGHT AGAINST YOURSELF, between that voice that encouraging you to give up because it is too hard, because you are not good anymore and you are feeling like a sh***t and that voice that really want to go to reach your goal. Between the looser and the winner that are in you .... LISTEN THE WINNER.
This is exactly here you need to REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED !!!
You need to accept you are starting from the beginning again, but don’t be worried, you gonna IMPROVE AND GETTING BETTER QUICKLY !
Remember how you feel when you are at the top of your performance, Remember how you feel when you start to see you shapes appearing. And THINK A SECOND, what makes you HAPPY the most ? to give up ? or to GO TO GET WHAT YOU WANT?
DO NOT STOP !!! You felt down of the wagon, it is fine, it happened to everyone, take it as a LESSON, learn from it and not doing it again, and GO BACK ON THE TRACK, MOVE FORWARD, PUSH HARDER.
Start again to track the small progress, it will keep you motivated and it will makes you proud of you.
Personally, i bought a couples of new leggings from my favourite Athlete Lauren Simpson to give me the encouragement i needed and i enrolled in a competition to kick my ass harder, because i knew to start again after 3 months without training would be very hard, so i added a little bit of challenge to it.
WHATEVER happen in your life, NEVER GIVE UP .... it is never too late, it is not because you stopped once that you can not do it anymore.
PUSH HARDER, FIX YOUR GOALS AND GO TO GET IT !
I hope my experience could help other people to keep on and to not give up on what is important for them and to not give up on what they make them feel happy and feeling good in their life or in their fitness journey.
